Helmut Ponath is CEO of REEDEREI NSB. After completing his degree in mechanical engineering in 1970, Helmut Ponath worked as a project engineer and later as a manager in the field of the construction of mechanical equipment at Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft GmbH (HDW).
After moving to Reederei Wesch in Jork, Lower Saxony, in 1982, Helmut Ponath was Head of Superintendence before being appointed Managing Director of Niederelbe Schiffahrtsgesellschaft mbh & Co. KG (NSB) in March 1986. Initially under the umbrella of the Bremer Vulkan Verbund, the shipping company was transferred to new ownership structures in 2000. Since then Helmut Ponath has been a co-partner in the company.
Tim Ponath was named COO of REEDEREI NSB in 2014. Since his entry into the company in 2005, he has assumed management positions in the Newbuildings department, in one of our container fleets and ultimately as the Vice President Technical Management & Services.
Tim Ponath has studied business engineering and mechanical engineering and is a skilled industrial mechanic. He is responsible for the entire fleet management of REEDEREI NSB as well as for all sales activities regarding current and prospective customers. His close contacts to chartering customers enable him to tailor the company’s services ever closer to their requirements.
